I was too lazy to make it to Malaysia this weekend (Beijing last week and Hawaii/Boston coming up) so I settled for some simple fried chicken.

 

Headed to Beijing for a conference and since I was flying Singapore Airlines, got to check out the new terminal.   It is clean and new... and also had the mother of all lines.  Lucky for me, I used the internet check in so I didnt have to stand in this. The red arrow in the picture is the end.

2008 has been just terrible here in Asia Stock Market land.   Why buy into Asia when you sell the mess in the US?  Ouch... even good old China is only flat for 2008... well Shenzhen is up a bit.

Even with all the blood today...two Chinese IPO's had no problem rising almost 200% on their first day of trading.

Another Indian lunch.

Big time cury, Malaysian beef + tomato, and sweet & sour ribs.

The above map shows southern Malaysia and where I go surfing.  I normally go to Tanjung Balau which has a public beach park and showers (nice!).  Unfortunately, the break is only ok and it gets really wind.  Today I surfed Le Cemara for the first time and had a great time. It was much less windy and the rid longer.  There is nothing there besides the beach and a few fishing huts.  On the plus, you can drive your right onto the beach! 

 

The best break is just past those rocks (right picture)

 

Local fisher people live right on the beach.  As you can see, I wasn't the only one surfing here.
