    Chicken Soup

For some reason I decided to buy a whole chicken the other day at the market in Malaysia.  Of couse I don't have an oven so I made this Chinese soup.  I boiled the broth for 1 hour and then the chicken for 3 hours.  Here is the result:

    New Orchids

Picked these up in KL.  The wind from the long drive home did a number on the pink one.. too bad.

    Weekend in Kuala Lumpur

Decided it was time for another full weekend away from Singapore... so I drove up to KL again.

One of the first things I did was climb up the Genting Klang Quartz Ridge.  This is actually the longest quartz ridge in the world!  Not an easy hike, but a nice escape from the Singapore/KL concrete jungle.

The other big activity of the weekend was eating.  This is a chronical of my trip to the local night market.

    Malaysia (again)

Surfing season is basically over here on the east coast which means I need something else to do with my free weekend time (not until hell freezes over will u find me on Orchard Road).  I was looking for a particular mountain to climb on Sunday... and I never did find it.  I did get my usual breakfast and lunch and did my weekly shopping.  Maybe I will find that mtn next week.

    Monday Night Dinner

Normally, the big meal of the week for me is Sunday...but this week, jet lag refuses to leave and I fell asleep at 530pm yesterday before I could start cooking.  Anyways, this was the first big cooking event since I came back from the US.  Fried rice noodles, Kurma Spice Chicken, and Nasi Karder Beef.

    Back in the saddle

Finally got my new moto here in Singapore: a brand new 2007 Honda Shadow VT750.  I had to take a pic of the odometer.  First time I have ever owned something mechanical that wasn't used (I would love nothing more than buying the same thing used...but because Singapore encourages people not to drive normal sized bikes, my options in the used department were very limited). Anyways, having a brand new bike it is pretty cool.  The only thing I don't like, this ugly ERP (electronic box that Singapore uses to take money from me) stuck on the left side of the handle bar. I'll stop complaining now.  It is great to be back on a bike.

    V-Day Dinner in Singapore

No romantic dinner for me here... just take out from the Shanghai restaurant in my neighborhood. There stuff is ok.. but being a former resident of Shanghai, I am a bit spoiled.

    EEE PC

I got my new EEE PC on Amazon.com for $400.  It is a neat little computer.  Light, fast, and cheap.  Watch out Dell.

I was so excited to be eating this stuff again that I forgot to take my pictures before I dug in.  Here is what it looked like 1/2 gone!

    On To Boston: Taiwan Cafe

I use to eat here every week when I lived in Boston.  The place hasn't changed a bit.  Xiao Qi, Wang Qiu Yu, and Robbie dined with me.

It snowed every day while I was in Boston... and I couldn't stop taking pictures of it or freezing my ass off.
