    More rainbows

More rainbows over my neighborhood.  Came back from surfing and saw this double rainbow.

    Looking for waves

One thing I do each day is take a look down at the waves.  From my house you can clearly see the waves in front of Kahala.  If they are breaking there.. good chance they also are at Diamond Head and Wailupe.

Below is what I am looking at (but much closer up)

    Lunch at Rainbows

Rainbows is pretty famous here in Honolulu.  When I was in grad school I use to eat here a lot more often (they give you tons of food).  All out of bbq chicken so I ordered a mixed plate.

Made a trip out to the farm to take some pics for the new website.

    Driveway shots

Saw two interesting things from my driveway today.

Number 1: The hawaii Super Ferry!  I've read a lot about it... and there it was on its way to Maui.  Pretty big.

Number 2: Small rainbow over the ridge.

    Pineapple & Banana Shake

Made another shake after a run and snorkeling.  Today's consisted of pineapple, banana, ice, coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla.

    Wailupe

Diamond Head is always pretty crowded...so I decided to try a new surf spot.  Wailupe is close to my house and there is never anyone there.  It is a long paddle out, but, there are 2 nice breaks.  You can see the reef off in the distance of the pics and the good break is a bit beyond that.  The day I took these pictures was pretty flat.

    My Stock Account

After the week from hell.. I was happy to note that my stock account is flat for the year.  The Citigroup is actually better than the -2.7% because the below figures don't incule the 3 shares I own via dividend reinvestment (3 shares x 20.22=+60..6 usd).  My guess is that everything slides again soon tho.

    America Rules

America Rules.  No one laughs at themselves like we do. Take note Asia.

    Pepper Tree

The people who know me are aware of how much I love spicy food...so you can imagine how happy I was that Tony's dad (who also loves spicy food) gave me a pepper tree.  You can see it is pretty big at 1.4m tall and has a bunch of peppers on it already.  Hope it does well on Halekoa Dr.

    Banana Shake

Came back from Tony's place and made a banana shake to cool down and give myself some energy for surfing.  Ice, banana, coconut milk, and sweetened condensed milk.  Oh.. add a little vanilla extract too.  The pineapple and pamelo are for later.

    Monday Dinner

Picked up dinner at the Palama Market (Korean supermarket near Waikiki)

    IMG_2455IMG_2462IMG_2464

One nice thing about being back in the US is the price of beer. I paid $12.50 for 12 bottles of Heineken.  In Singapore, it costs almost 2 USD per bottle!

    Xin Jiang Trip

I was saving some files on my computer and happened to open up the folder where I had saved a bunch of pictures from a trip to Xinjiang more than 3 years ago.  I hadn't looked at these in ages but was reminded of how neat a place it was.  Most of these pictures were taken in and around Kashgar or what the chinese call 喀什. The name might sound familiar to some as the locals set off a bomb killing several Chinese Police people before the Olympics.  The locals were very nice to Dave & I...although several of them did express their hatred of the Chinese to me.

    Lehman

Maybe it is a little hard to see this... but Lehman Brothers stock price was down 40% today (almost 90% since 1 year ago).  I had $12 in my stock account and since I get free trades...decided to buy 2 shares.  I paid $4.23 (-42% on the day).  I'll let you know it turns out.  Maybe I can make enough money out of this to buy a hot dog in Hawaii next week.
